Allow me to go to bat for Space Gray. It is the best Apple color scheme. When Apple really leans into it, products look sharp. Dashing, even. The Space Gray Mac accessories, in particular, always looked really good, even if they only existed because Apple had the iMac Pro in its lineup. Well, about that. The iMac Pro has been phased out now. And sadly, with it go the Space Gray Mac goodies. They are being banished.
As MacRumors reports, Apple now appears to be selling off the remainder of its Space Gray Mac accessories. Three Space Gray items in question — the Magic Mouse 2, Magic Keyboard, and Magic Trackpad — all have the tiny text “While supplies last” underneath them.
When products have these words, it’s usually a sure sign Apple plans to discontinue them as soon as they sell out. It seems Apple would rather not keep these accessories around if the iMac they were meant to be paired with is no longer an option.
If you had your heart set on a Space Gray something for your Mac, it would probably be a good idea to race over to the Apple Store and snatch one of these items up. I can almost certainly see scalpers trying their hand at turning a profit on them if they’re tough to find.
We can always hope Apple changes its mind and decides to keep Space Gray as an option for future accessories. For these particular pieces, though, it looks like the end of the road is ahead.
