Amy Hennig is the legend behind the first three Uncharted games, and she was set to be creative director of one Star Wars game—Project Ragtag—before it was canceled back in 2019. With Lucasfilm Games now looking to collaborate with other studios, it has been announced that Hennig is once again working on Star Wars.
As per StarWars.com, Skydance New Media and Lucasfilm Games are teaming up to develop a ‘narrative-driven, action-adventure game featuring an original story in the Star Wars galaxy,’ with Hennig at the helm.
We do not have any official details about the story or gameplay yet, but fans suspect this will be the revival of Ragtag, a game initially announced back in 2016 but then canceled in 2019. Hopefully, they still have some workable assets from the game instead of building everything again from the ground up.
“I’ve often described how seeing Star Wars in 1977 essentially rewired my 12-year-old brain, shaping my creative life and future indelibly… I’m elated to be working with Lucasfilm Games again to tell interactive stories in this galaxy that I love,” said Hennig.
Since Uncharted has essentially set the bar for narrative-driven action games, we should expect Hennig’s Star Wars game to do the same. Though Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order does have its praises, the story is far from something as enjoyable as Uncharted. I mean, you do not even get to use any ships.
Hopefully, we will get more updates on Hennig’s Star Wars game soon. As of now, no release date has been announced.
