After their success with Ashen, A44 Games is ready to come out with their new game, Flintlock: The Siege of Dawn. We had gotten the announcement for the game a few weeks ago, and now we have a new dev diary entry that gives us a look into the ‘Rich World’ of Flintlock.

Watch this:

While the world Flintlock is teasing is massive, the devs had decided to take inspiration from the fantasy location of the world New Zealand, where the Lord of the Rings movies had been shot. Besides that, we also get a look at the impressively designed bosses, plus a little of the gameplay that promises to be soulslike.

With Ashen being clearly inspired by Dark Souls, a lot of players are thinking that Flintlock will be a lot closer to Bloodborne this time around, what with your character having access to guns as well. It’s also worth noting that while Ashen had a more cartoonish look to it, Flintlock looks to be on the more photoreal side of things. Hopefully we get a new look sooner rather than later if this game is really looking forward to coming out this year.

Discover Flintlock, a new open-world action-RPG from the makers of Ashen. Join Nor in an epic journey of vengeance, gunpowder and magic where Gods & guns collide in humanity’s last stand.

Flintlock has no specific release date but is set to come out this year for Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, PlayStation 4|5, and PC.
