We got our first look at Justin Roiland’s High on Life last week, and though we did get the October release window, we didn’t really get any specifics on the release date. Now we do.
As confirmed by the official account on Twitter, High on Life will be releasing on October 25. Here’s the post:
While Roiland is best known for his work on shows like Rick and Morty and Solar Opposites, he has revealed a penchant for games, with his last game being Trover Saves the Universe for VR.
Roiland goes the more traditional game route with High on Life, but as you can see, he’s put his own special sci-fi twist to the game, in that the guns in the game are characters themselves, and you actually get to talk to them as you use them to fire on enemies who want to use humans as drugs.
It all sounds pretty crazy, but it certainly tracks for Roiland’s brand of humor. With a release date set for later October, hopefully we can get a look at more of the game and the crazy weapons we’ll get to use—kind of an R-rated take on Ratchet & Clank.
From the mind of Justin Roiland comes High On Life. Humanity is being threatened by an alien cartel who wants to use them as drugs. It’s up to you to rescue and partner with charismatic, talking guns, take down Garmantuous and his gang, and save the world!
High on Life launches this Oct. 25 for Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, and PC.
