Assassin’s Creed may not be able to go back to the golden age of piracy, but developer Ubisoft may have something to scratch that itch with Skull and Bones.
Just in, we have a full gameplay overview for Skull and Bones and it gives us a look at this open-world game set in the golden age of swashbuckling and treasure hunting. Check this out:
Here’s the official description as well:
Enter the perilous paradise of Skull and Bones, inspired by the Indian Ocean during the Golden Age of Piracy, as you overcome the odds and rise from an outcast to an infamous pirate. Craft a variety of unique ships to survive, thrive, and rule in an immersive world that introduces new challenges and features every season.
Though games like Sea of Thieves lean in more heavily on the cartoonish look of its world, Skull and Bones is going for a more realistic feel that’s pretty similar to the Assassin’s Creed titles. Unlike Pirates of the Caribbean though, it doesn’t look like you’ll be able to go up against any mythical sea monsters.
Despite its more realistic flair, the world of Skull and Bones looks to be pretty fleshed out. You can choose from three different types of ships to navigate around the Indian Ocean, and you also have the option to attack other players and their fleet. Don’t forget to sign up for contracts as well, so that you can build your pirate reputation.
Skull and Bones launches on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC on Nov. 8.
