The Harry Potter films had the main trio hanging out in the Gryffindor common room all the time, but we do know that each house has their own hangout for students. We never really got to visit the rooms in the books or the films, but Hogwarts Legacy is going to have them fully accessible, and we just got a tour.
Check this out:
While not an exact recreation of the settings in the movie, the game does try its best to give us a look that’s a mesh of the two. The Gryffindor common room looks larger, but it has a very familiar, warm feeling to that of the movies, and the Slytherin area looks very dark and damp—exactly what you would expect from a place close to the Hogwarts dungeons.
As for the Hufflepuff and Ravenclaw rooms, they both have their own personalities. For the Ravenclaw common room, you would expect that the house for the most intellectual students would have numerous study nooks and is pretty organized and generally clean. As for Hufflepuff, you have this very warm, Hobbit feel to it; and the common room is littered with plants, which would make sense since the house was run by Professor Sprout during Harry’s time in Hogwarts.
I love the personality of each dorm, and it kind of makes you wish you could access all rooms wherever house you pick. Then again, maybe we could be going through a story that would have you visiting every nook and cranny of the map.
Hogwarts Legacy is set to launch on Feb. 10, 2023 for PlayStation, Xbox, and PC. A Nintendo Switch version is also in development.
