Motive Studios has tried their hand at Star Wars titles with Battlefront II and Squadrons, but now they’re going to have their hands busy with another Disney IP.
As officially announced by EA, Motive Studios will be working on an Iron Man game. The announcement reads:
“Developed in collaboration with Marvel Games, the game will feature an original narrative that taps into the rich history of Iron Man, channeling the complexity, charisma, and creative genius of Tony Stark, and enabling players to feel what it’s like to truly play as Iron Man.”
We don’t have a look at gameplay, but it has been said that this Iron Man title will be a “single-player, third-person, action-adventure” featuring cinema’s favorite billionaire besides Bruce Wayne.
It’s also worth noting that the lead of the team will be Olivier Proulx, who has experience with the Guardians of the Galaxy game. Though GOTG the game may not have sold with the numbers expected, the game did receive a lot of great reviews and word of mouth, and it’s only a matter of time before people start to consider it a cult classic.
As for an Iron Man game, I’m sure there are a lot of ways to make it work. While I think an open-world where you can fly and shoot things is the way to go, I would love for something with a more compact narrative like The Last of Us. Then again, that’s just my pitch.
No release date has been announced for Iron Man yet, but the character is currently playable in Avengers: A-Day now available for Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, PlayStation 4|5, and PC.
