The God of War franchise may have left Greek mythology behind, but Acme Gamestudio is ready to jump back into that mythos with their game Asterigos: Curse of the Stars. The game has just released on all major platforms, and now we have an in-depth look at the gameplay.
Watch this:
Though it looks like the game won’t be bringing in any familiar gods from the Greek/Roman mythologies, a lot of the creatures that Hilda goes up against in the clips seem to come straight from that lore, from demon hounds to minotaurs.
In Hilda’s disposal will be a variety of six weapons, with each having their own special combination when two are put together. Hilda will also have the ability to control the elements, them being frost, fire, and electricity. The game teases that there could be more, but they would all have to be discovered in time.
While the game doesn’t look at highly-detailed as titles like Assassin’s Creed or God of War, I think the simplified art style does give the game its own unique feel. Plus, the designs from the weapons to the creatures looks fantastic.
Here’s the official description for the game:
Embark on a journey full of danger in this action RPG, inspired by Greek and Roman mythologies. Explore the breathtaking city of Aphes and forge your way through legions of unique foes and mythical bosses to discover the truth behind the city’s curse.
Asterigos: Curse of the Stars is now available for Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, PC, and PlayStation 4|5.
