Skybound’s Invincible is celebrating it’s 20-year Anniversary this month, and the property has seriously gotten larger since the animated series premiered on Amazon Prime Video last year. As it turns out, we could be seeing the IP expand to more mediums soon.

Robert Kirkman’s Invincible is Getting a Video Game?

Skybound Entertainment (via ComicBook) has announced that several properties are being prepared for Invincible including, apparel, collectibles, tabletop games, video games, and more.” We don’t really have that much details on anything that’s being worked on, but we should expect more reveals to come out alongside the release of the second season of the series. A live-action movie has actually been in development for a while, but until now we haven’t gotten any significant updates.

With games like Spider-Man and Arkham Asylum redefining the superhero genre when it comes to video games, I imagine that Invincible could approach the medium several ways. The colourful roster of characters can pretty much fuel a fighting game or a hero shooter like Overwatch, but it’s possible we could also have some kind of open-world action platformer.

Invincible is very new to the public eye, so I can imagine that the studios won’t be so keen in going too big until the property gets more audience reach. If you ask me, they should try crossing over to multiple games like Fortnite or Brawlhalla. My personal favourite idea is the hero shooter one—so get on it Skybound!

For now, you can catch Invincible now streaming on Amazon Prime Video.
