November is almost here, which means that we’re getting closer to the release of Sonic Frontiers. A lot of fans are excited for this open-world Sonic game, and SEGA has dropped a new look at the combats and upgrades that Sonic will get for this new-gen adventure.

Though fans have a pretty general idea of what Sonic’s abilities are, Frontiers gives him a variety of speed attacks that will help him take on multiple types of enemies. While we’re used to Sonic just going fast and whirling his body against baddies, this game actually gives him some ranged abilities that you can upgrade as you progress in the game.
Probably the most unique mechanic in Frontiers is the ‘cyloop’ that allows Sonic to make a trail and damage anything within a closed loop. To take down enemy shields, you can run a cyloop around them to take the shield down, and use your standard abilities to deal some damage. The cyloop is also useful in gathering any coins you may have dropped when you get damaged.
