After The Callisto Protocol coming out this year, EA Motive is set to re-introduce the sci-fi horror survival game Dead Space with a top-to-bottom remake. The game is set to launch late January, and we have an extended look at the gameplay and all the improvements that have come with the remake.
Watch this:
Senior Producer Philippe Ducharme gives you a more in-depth sneak peek at the reimagined USG Ishimura, showing off key improvements including updated visual fidelity, the interconnected ship, the intensity director, and more.
The Intensity Director makes your exploration of the Ishimura even more intense, challenging, and unpredictable. Enemies, lighting, and ambiance may change each time you return to a previously explored area, making each experience unique. Then find out how new audio and visual effects help crank up the tension throughout.
Checking out the comparison with the original game, we can see that there’s been a lot of detail added to the environment, with players free to roam larger areas without the necessity of a loading screen or some kind of distraction to mask it.
We can also see that some of the gameplay has been altered to give Isaac more of a challenge when it comes to the Ishimura, and players will have to choose between options like going through an area without oxygen or going through without any light.
This would have been the perfect game for the Halloween season, but I guess people need their horror fixes outside of October as well.
Dead Space launches for PC, Xbox, and PlayStation on Jan. 27, 2023.
