The Super Mario Bros. Movie isn’t the only Mario property with big reveals over the past week. Mario Strikers: Battle League is also gearing up for the launch of their next free update, and we have a new preview for incoming characters Birdo an Bowser Jr.

When it comes to Bowser Jr., he’s described as a character that is a balanced player that assists with accurate passes. As for Birdo, she’s been turned into an offensive player that shoots powerful and precise shots—sometimes with her blowhole mouth.
New players aren’t the only thing coming with the update as well. We have new gear in the form of the shellfish gear, and a new stadium as well with Urban Rooftop.
We don’t know which other characters can be expected to drop in Mario Strikers, but knowing the franchise, there’s an abundance of characters that Nintendo can just keep pulling from to add players that all have their own kind of special ability.
With the incoming movie though, I wonder if we’re going to get some content related to the film when it comes out in April next year. I guess we’ll just have to wait and see what happens.
