The Kazama roster continues to grow for Tekken 8. After the reveal of Jin’s mother Jun Kazama, Bandai Namco has released a gameplay trailer for Jin’s younger cousin (who still kicks but) Asuka.

Asuka brings justice in #TEKKEN8!

Asuka was a character that was introduced in the franchise back in Tekken 5, and she has since been a series regular. While she may not be as powerful as Jin when it comes to her moves, she does make up for it by having some fantastic combos.

If Jin is the Ryu of Tekken, then Asuka is definitely Sakura—a watered down version of the main character. With all the family drama with Jin and Kazuya, Asuka is definitely an interesting addition to the Kazama family roster.

Now all we need is a reveal for Heihachi, and the circle will be complete; unless they also plan to reintroduce Heihachi’s father Jinpachi.

Here’s the official overview for Tekken 8:

Developed by Bandai Namco Studios, Tekken 8 pushes the envelope for fighting games and takes full advantage of the power of the latest generation of consoles by creating one of the most visually stunning and immersive titles in the genre yet. Tekken 8 picks up after the gruesome battle that ended in Heihachi Mishima’s defeat, focusing on a new rivalry pitting father against son as Jin Kazama stands in defiance against Kazuya Mishima’s quest for world dominance.

Tekken 8 still has no release date, but fingers crossed it comes out to all major consoles this year.
