The official description reads:

The long-awaited sequel to the award-winning cinematic action-thriller and Remedy Entertainment’s take on survival horror.

A string of ritualistic murders and supernatural darkness begins to corrupt the locals of the quirky, idyllic small town of Bright Falls. Can Agent Saga Anderson and Alan Wake break free from the desolate horror story they’re trapped in and be the heroes they need to be?

If you haven’t checked out the first Alan Wake game yet, now is probably the best time to get into it. The story has a very interesting take on the horror genre. Wake and his abilities to alter reality through writing offer up unique potential stories.

While the first game had an ambiguous ending, the sequel should explain exactly what happened to Alan. Alongside Alan, it also looks like the new character Agent Anderson will have her special arc regarding this sequel.

Alan Wake II is set to release on Xbox Series X|S, PC, and PS5 on Oct. 17.
