Learn the correct answers for the Blood Ties Quest in Warhammer 40,000: Rogue Trader!
Warhammer 40,000 may have started as a tabletop game in the 80s, but this franchise from Games Workshop has managed to branch out to all kinds of media, from toys to video games. One new release for Warhammer fans is the tactical RPG Warhammer 40,000: Rogue Trader. Many fans have been enjoying this jump into the region of the Koronus Expanse.
Essentially, you take the role of the Rogue Trader, and it will be up to you to expand the reach of the Imperium of Man over the Koronus Expanse. You will have to take a party of allies with different abilities as you take on turn-based fights in dungeon after dungeon, fighting in the name of the Imperium.
Though fantasy tactics are at the very core of the game, Rogue Trader has some special side quests that try to shake things up occasionally. One particular mission in Chapter 4 will have you investigating and using your powers of deduction to solve a case.
The problem is that the game doesn’t hold your hand on this mission, and that’s why a lot of players have been trying to find a way to beat the mission.
Blood Ties
Head over to Dargonus in the Mundus Valancius system to start the mission. The moment you land, you’ll be greeted by a gruesome (but not too odd by Warhammer standards) scene with dead bodies and several guards, and it will be up to you to find out who the culprit is behind the crime.
Blood Ties will require the player to go around asking characters about what they know and gathering evidence, and from that point, they’ll be able to pinpoint the culprit behind the crime. The mission will have you investigating four families: the Gaprak, Sauerback, Drivestem, and Wersarian.
After passing the Awareness check on the Servitor, you can obtain a note; from that point, you can enter the throne room and start your interrogation with the families. Make sure you go through all of their dialogue options; from that, you can deduce who committed the crime.
As for the guilty family, the answer will be Sauerback. When you’re ready to reveal this, talk to Drivestem and declare the verdict.
The Correct Answers To the Blood Ties Quest
Though the game gives the player a chance to condemn the entire family, they can still investigate further and find the singular criminal.
– Head back to the entrance, where you will find Gallen Gaprak. He will die, but you will find a note in his pocket.
– Tell the Gapraks about this, and exhaust all the dialogue options with them.
– Share the information you have with the Werserians.
– Talk to the Drivestems and ask about Macharius Sauerback. You will then be asked to follow an aristocrat, who will lead you to a corner where you will find a wine bottle—which was used to commit the crime.
– Talk to the Drivestems and summon everyone for your verdict. Go through your Awareness checks with everyone, and select the option “House Sauerback guilty. Seneschal, you may take it from here.”
NOTE: Many players have reported receiving a bug where the game will stall. If you regain control of the party, the game has done something wrong, but if things go smoothly, the scene will play out, and Abelard will approach you.

As for the culprit, it is Regina Sauerback. You will have the option to punish her alone or the entire family. No consequences have been noted for taking all the Sauerbacks out yet, but it’s possible that it could lead to some major implications in the future.
