Horizon Forbidden West may have been outshined by God of War Ragnarok and Elden Ring, but maybe Aloy can make a comeback this April?
Here’s the trailer for the upcoming expansion Horizon Fobidden West: Burning Shores, and it has Aloy travelling to post-apocalyptic Los Angeles. Watch this:
Here’s the official description:
Horizon Forbidden West: Burning Shores sees Aloy pursue a sinister threat in the untamed wilds of Los Angeles, now a treacherous volcanic archipelago.
Though the world of Horizon takes place in the far future of an already advanced human society, this is the first time we’re getting monuments from the old world that are still pretty distinct. Sure we have other old buildings in the game, but they’re so decrepit and old that they’re barely recognizable. It’s amazing how the Hollywood sign is still distinguishable after all the years of this canon.
Though fans were still able to check out Forbidden West for the PS4, it looks like Burning Shores will be exclusive to the new-gen. With some games having to scale back because of the limitations of the old-gen, it seems that PlayStation is slowly making their transition to the PS5 exclusives moving forward. Unless they’re indie games, I think we should look at a future where AAA games are coming exclusively to new-gen consoles only.
Horizon Forbidden West: Burning Shores comes to PlayStation 5 on April 19, 2023.
