Vantage was proving too powerful for the devs’ tastes.
Typically, new Legend releases take a few weeks or even months before they settle into a solid position in terms of pick rates – this was not the case for the newest Legend in the Apex Legends lineup.
It has only been a few weeks since Respawn Entertainment introduced Vantage in Apex Legends Season 14, but the long-range specialist has unexpectedly shot up to the top of the pick rate ladder already, overtaking the likes of long-time fan-favorites Wraith and Octane.
Nevertheless, if anything was to be expected from a major update, it would be bugs. Fortunately, Respawn Entertainment was quick to address a few key bugs that could put Vantage players at a disadvantage in certain situations.
Vantage Changes & Bug Fixes
Vantage’s strengths lie in her skill set, which is geared towards gathering key information on enemy teams from a distance.
Vantage can gain information on her enemies through her Spotter’s Lens ability, which reveals enemy distance, enemy Legend, and their shields. When needed, Vantage can easily set up and spearhead an ambush with her Echo Relocation or use it to get out of sticky situations. Perhaps her most powerful weapon is her special sniper rifle that tracks enemies on hit, causing them to take additional damage from Vantage and her teammates on subsequent shots.
The changes sought to fix how an issue with Vantage’s KO shield and how Vantage’s Spotter’s Lens works after being respawned.
Other changes include a fix where players couldn’t upgrade their weapons when playing in Arena and some crashing issues when collecting banners when wearing specific skins (Seer Heartthrob and Rampart Wastelander)
Missing Apex Pack Glitch Fix
Respawn finally removed the Level 500 cap in Apex Legend’s battle royale mode at the start of Season 14, which meant that players could level up and collect even more Apex Packs in-game.
However, a weird glitch put a stop to the celebrations almost immediately and players took to Twitter to express their dismay about the absence of Apex Packs even after they have leveled up beyond Level 500.
Fortunately, Respawn Entertainment has already issued an update that addresses the bug, and players will be rewarded any missing packs they have earned prior to the fix as well.
“We have many different systems in our game that keep track of players’ levels, rewards, and overall progress in the game. In a normal situation, all these systems talk to each other and work in tandem, but when updating our level cap, some of these systems started to get mismatched. As a result, players would be able to see their progression go up but rewards would not be granted.”
The good news is that Respawn Entertainment has placed safeguards to prevent this type of bug from happening in-game in the future.
We have set more checks to make sure that when things are out of sync, the game will automatically check and grant the appropriate rewards.

Systems Clear!
With bugs out of the way, Apex Legends fans can hopefully thoroughly enjoy the game’s 14th Season without a hitch moving forward. It will be interesting to see how players take advantage of Vantage’s strengths in-game as she gains even more popularity in Apex Legends.
