Electronic Arts and Respawn Entertainment pulled out all the stops for the final season of Apex Legends Mobile.

Apex Legends Mobile: Aspire Patch Notes (Season 4)

Apex Legends Mobile became more than just a port of the ultra-popular Battle Royale game on PC and console – it brought exclusive content like mobile-exclusive Legends in Fade and Rhapsody and Legend Perks, which made Legends even more powerful than their PC and console counterparts.

So it wasn’t too surprising to learn that Apex Legends Mobile would go on to become one of the most popular Battle Royale games on Android, snagging the Best Game and Best Game (User’s Choice) awards at the Google Play Best of 2022 Awards.

Unfortunately, the success would be short-lived, as the devs recently announced the shocking decision to shut down Apex Legends Mobile this May.

As a farewell parade for Apex Legends Mobile, the devs have just released Apex Legends Mobile Season 4, which comes with a ton of new content and features that players can enjoy while the game lasts.

What’s New For Season 4?

New for season four is the addition of a classic Legend in Horizon, a well-loved map in Olympus, the release of Octane’s Signature Weapon, the debut of Tournaments, and more.

There’s a lot to take in with the new update, so we have taken only the most important updates and features and broken them down into bite-sized content.

Horizon

A lot of players have been anticipating the arrival of the Gravitational Manipulator into Apex Legends Mobile and their wishes have been granted in Season 4. The sad news is that players will only have less than two months to play the classic Legend on mobile.

With that said, players can finally experience how Horizon plays with a full suite of Perks enabled – something that PC and console players can only wish for right now.

Here are Horizon’s Abilities and all the mobile-exclusive Perks you can expect to unlock for her in-game:

Passive: Spacewalk

Increase air control and reduce fall impact with Horizon’s custom spacesuit.

Tactical: Gravity Lift

Rever the flow of gravity, lifting players upwards and boosting them outwards when they exit.

Ultimate: Black Hole

Deploy N.E.W.T. to create a micro black hole that pulls players in towards it, and hit them with a gravitational blast at the end.

Legend Perks:

Swift Landing: Briefly accelerate after falling from a great height.

Gravitational Pull: While knocked down, you can still use Gravity Lift.

Leap for Mankind: You can jump higher when your Tactical and Ultimate are deployed.

Cosmic Lift: Gravity Lift’s height increases by 50%.

Dark Matter: Black Hole destroys all enemy traps within its vicinity.

Deadly Momentum: Using your Finisher reduces your Ultimates cooldown by 30%.

Battle Adaptation: Using your Finisher adds 100 points to your EVO Shield.

Tactical Advantage: Using your Finisher charges your Tactical.

Olympus

Horizon’s arrival will not be complete without Olympus – Horizon’s home world, hence the devs have also added Olympus as the third and final playable map in Apex Legends Mobile.

Fans of Apex Legends will be very familiar with Olympus’ Gravity Elevators that allow fast travel from one section of the map to another. It will be interesting to see how well the classic map translates on the mobile platform.

Signature Weapons

Octane mains will rejoice as their favorite Legend is set to receive the final Signature Weapon in Apex Legends Mobile.

Afterburner, Octane’s baseball bat Signature Weapon comes with 6 levels and 2 deadly forms that players can unlock by earning Signature Merits or buying Signature Tributes from special events.

The devs have laid out a couple of events where you can earn Signature Tributes, so keep an eye on the events page and earn those Tributes as soon as possible.

Tournaments

New for Season 4 is Tournaments – a series of limited-time events where players compete for their place on the event leaderboard to get bragging rights and exciting rewards.

Tournaments feature a handful of tournament types:

  • Elimination Tournaments
  • Legends Tournaments
  • Ranked Tournaments

Each of the tournament types rotates to give players a different set of objectives. By completing these objectives, players can earn Tournament Points which will determine their place on the event leaderboard.

Great skill is rewarded in the Tournaments limited-time event, as the rewards players can get from the event depend on their final leaderboard placement when the event concludes.

Rewards will be sent directly to each player’s mailbox or claimed from the event menu.

Limited-time game modes

Two new limited-time game modes have been added to Apex Legends Mobile for Season 4 – Lightning Battle and Deja Loot.

Lightning Battle is a modified Battle Royale game mode where players fight in smaller safe zones with fewer rounds. Legend ability cooldowns have also been reduced to help make the game mode more exciting.

On the other hand, Deja Loot, also a limited-time Battle Royale game mode, features fixed loot drops, Airdrop points, supply ship routes, safe zone locations, and respawn points that are updated daily.

Events

Lastly, four events are set to grace Apex Legends Mobile from February 15th to March 28th – Loot MRVN Challenges, Octane’s Strikeout, Carnival Parade, and Daily Blast Off!

Loot MRVN Challenges adds Olympus-specific challenges that will help motivate players to explore all Olympus has to offer on the mobile version of Apex Legends Mobile.

Remember Octane’s cool new baseball bat? You can earn the required Signature Merits to unlock the weapon by completing Octane-centric objectives in the Octane’s Strikeout event.

Lastly, Carnival Parade and Daily Blast Off! feature missions that will unlock Carnival-themed rewards and downloadable posters for players to collect.

When Will Apex Legends Season 4 End?

Apex Legends Season 4 will end on May 1st, 2023 at 5:00 PM PDT, which means players only have two months or so to play Apex Legends Mobile before the game is shut down.

Players can enjoy all their in-game purchases for as long as the game remains playable up until the May 1st deadline. After that, the game, and by extension, all in-game items, will no longer be usable.

What will happen after Apex Legends Season 4?

Screenshot 20230219 112816 Apex Legends

Apex Legends Season 4 is supposedly the final Season to be released for Apex Legends Mobile. The devs have announced their plans to sunset the game by May 1st, 2023. The reasons for this decision are largely unknown, as the devs have not given any specifics on why they suddenly decided to kill the game.

All in-game purchases and virtual currency will stay in players’ respective accounts until May 1st. Unfortunately, players cannot ask for a refund for these purchases as per the terms of the EA User Agreement.

In addition, the Apex Legends Mobile Web Store is no longer accessible since the announcement, and content sold on third-party web stores has been pulled out as well.

Nevertheless, the devs say the decision may change as they listen to community feedback. So cross those fingers and hope they retract their plans on killing Apex Legends Mobile before May 1st.
