With the successful reception of Digimon Survive last July, Bandai Namco is now looking at the next entry into their library of Digimon games.
Just in, Bandai Namco has announced that they will be unveiling a game at Digimon Con 23 which is set to take place on Feb. 12, 2023. Here’s the post:
Not much is revealed about the upcoming game, but we can bet that it’s in the same nature of the recently released titles which will deal with cute (or fearsome) monsters battling it out in a fantasy digital space.
Though Digimon has never been able to get the same amount of popularity as Pokemon, the franchise still holds a very special place in the hearts of millenials, as it provided an alternative to Nintendo’s pocket monsters back in the early 2000s.
Naturally the franchise regularly reboots with a fresh new batch of Digimon and child protagonists for a new generation of kids to hang on to every few years, but the latest iteration had revisited the original batch of kids that were introduced to audiences in the 90s.
We don’t know what this new game could be about, but hopefully it will tie into whatever new upcoming animated project the Digimon franchise has up its sleeves.
