Black Panther Open-World Game in the Works?

According to insider Jeff Grubb (via @Nibellion), a Black Panther game could be in the works with EA Games. Here’s the report:

As of now, no official announcement has been made, but it certainly does track for a franchise as huge as BP.

With former Monolith VP Kevin Stephens said to be at the helm, I’m sure fans are already imagining a game that feels close to the Shadow of Middle-earth games. Besides the Arkham-esque gameplay that’s perfect for a character like Black Panther, I think it’s possible we could also have some kind of nemesis system when it comes to the various tribes of Wakanda. I guess it would work for a character who supposed to be a king managing his kingdoms.

Then again, this is all just based on a rumor for now, so take it with a grain of salt. That being said, the concept does work, and I’m sure that there is a lot to be gained when it comes to making a Black Panther game, especially one where players can decide the fate of Wakanda for themselves. I mean, Marvel has its own flimsy lore, but we’ve barely gotten any content that really fleshes out the world as detailed as Shadow of Middle-earth has.

A Black Panther game hasn’t been officially announced, but you can watch out for Black Panther: Wakanda Forever when it hits theaters Nov. 11.
