We’re a day late to the party on this one, but for those of you who also spent all of yesterday under a rock/drowning in a bar, 2K Games and Gearbox Software have officially announced that Borderlands 3 will be releasing later this year.
To get players back in the vault hunter mindset, Gearbox has released Borderlands: Game of the Year Edition on PS4. This is what the studio is calling the “brand new definitive” version of the popular co-op shooter. The remaster comes with remastered “ultra HD” graphics, significant quality-of-life updates, and all the previously released add-on content. Not bad, eh?
If you’ve already got Borderlands: The Handsome Collection then you’ll receive an update with an Ultra HD Texture Pack that gives the game a visual upgrade. Again, not bad, eh?
“For the past several years, the team at Gearbox Software has been devoting every ounce of our passion, creativity and love into making Borderlands 3 the biggest, baddest and most ambitious Borderlands adventure we’ve ever made,” said Gearbox Software President and CEO Randy Pitchford. “Borderlands 3 is being crafted not only as a love letter to fans of the series, but also as an ideal entry point for new players to jump-in alone or cooperatively, on or off-line, in the latest and greatest installment of the definitive best-in-class benchmark shooter-looter.”
So Randy Pitchford has not only announced that Borderlands 3 is releasing this year, but that it’s also officially known as a shooter-looter. So please, stop saying ‘schlooter’.
