This August will come a new course pass for Mario Kart 8 Deluxe, and players will have a total of eight new race tracks to look forward to.
Watch the release date announcement for Wave 2 of the Booster Course Pass for Mario Kart 8 Deluxe:
Take note, a lot of these ‘new’ tracks are actually classic arenas from previous Mario Kart games, but we do have a new track that feels like it’s straight out of Disney’s Wreck-It Ralph.
The new wave of DLC will allow players to compete for the Turnip Cup and Propeller Cup. The tracks associated with the Turnip Cup include New York Minute (Tour), Mario Circuit 3 (SNES), Kalimari Desert (N64), and Waluigi Pinball (DS). The Propeller Cup includes Sydney Sprint (Tour), Snow Land (GBA), Mushroom Gorge (Wii), and an original track called Sky-High Sundae.
The Booster Course Pass is planning on releasing a total of six waves of tracks, so players can watch out for some more releases down the line. While I was initially sceptical that Nintendo will be able to provide eight tracks with each drop, I realized they do have a wealth of previous Mario Kart games to draw arenas from. This experience should bring all titles in the franchise together.
