2022 saw the release of three Pinocchio movies, but this year will see the boy puppet star in his own AAA Soulslike game. Just in, IGN has released a new gameplay trailer for Lies of P along with their IGN Fan Fest 2023.

Here’s the official description for the game:
You wake up at an abandoned train station in Krat, a city overwhelmed by madness and bloodlust. In front of you lies a single note that reads:
“Find Mr. Geppetto. He’s here in the city.”
Play as Pinocchio, a puppet mechanoid, and fight through everything in your path to find this mystery person. But don’t expect any help along the way and don’t make the mistake of trusting anyone.
You must always lie to others if you hope to become human.
While it looks like the game has thrown almost all of the whimsy out of the window (Pinocchio’s conscience still sounds pretty cartoonish), we are presented with a dark, interesting world befitting the soulslike genre.
Not only does Pinocchio get a variety of different weapons, we also have some huge, crazy-looking bosses.
We don’t know where Geppetto’s alliances lie, but it’s going to be interesting to see how this game will tackle Pinocchio’s relationship with him; especially since he’s more than just a boy puppet that we’ve seen in previous incarnations.
Lies of P still has no release date yet, but the game is expected to launch sometime this year for PC, PlayStation 4|5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X|S.
