Conception PLUS: Maidens of the Twelve Stars is coming to the PS4 on November 5 in North America and November 8 in the EU. It’s a remake of a game from the PlayStation Portable (I thought saying PSP might no longer be a recognizable thing), and it’s been upgraded to bring its baby-making, world-saving premise to our modern lives. I certainly missed it on the first outing.
Like a lot of these titles, I’m sold on the unconventional premise alone. Dubbed “God’s Gift”, Itsuku Yuge is pulled out of his world to save the world of Granvania. He’ll do this by getting to know the twelve star maidens and creating offspring. Before you start thinking this is a naughty game for adults, it only carries an “M” rating in the US. It feels more like a relationship game within an RPG, and those seem to be acceptable among deviants and prudes alike.
Not to be outdone by the plot, the babies are made unconventionally too. You will need to get to know the star maidens and build that relationship. As you become closer, they will reveal their secrets and history to you. When a being from another world and a star maiden love each other very much, they will pour that love into a “Matryoshka” by a process called Classmating to create a baby.
That bouncing bundle of joy is a little bit mom, a little bit dad, and a little bit matryoshka. The child is influenced by his parents, and it will impact the stats. The depth of your bond with the mom will impact that as well. The matryoshka used will influence the child. In the end, you just want the strongest kiddos you can make, because they will be fighting off the Impurities that are threatening Granvania. Since there is a new character, Alfie the Trainer, in this version of the game, you can have up to thirteen little soldiers in your party as you move through ever-changing Stardust Labyrinths.
If you are already sold, you can pre-order the game digitally with a 10% discount on MSRP and receive a theme. If you want a physical copy, there is no discount, but the PS4 Day 1 Edition pairs the game with a mini astrology-themed calendar.
If you are still on the fence, we have the opening movie from the game up top and a few screenshots at the bottom. Conception PLUS: Maidens of the Twelve Stars will give birth to a remake on November 5 (US) and November 8 (EU), so start packing your bag for the hospital now.
