Critics may not have cared so much about Avalanche Studios Mad Max game, but the title still got a cult following, and it’s possible that we could be looking at a sequel coming soon.
This comes from Wendy W. Fok (via GamingBolt) who has said that she had been invited by Avalanche to get scanned for a rebel character in Mad Max 2. Here’s the post:
Based on George Miller’s Mad Max film series, Avalanche’s Mad Max was an open world action-adventure game which had hand-to-hand and vehicular combat. Taking control of Max, you get to scour the Wasteland and search for parts to upgrade your beat-up ride. On the way you have to fight off some of the other dangerous survivors of the Wasteland, who all want a piece of you.
With the Mad Max films essentially going on hiatus at the box office, you would think that Avalanche would take that time to really polish out a new-gen Mad Max game. There is an upcoming movie spinoff focused on Imperator Furiosa (Charlize Theron) starring Anya Taylor-Joy, so maybe the studio has the perfect window set-up for a Mad Max sequel announcement soon. We’ll just have to wait and see what happens.
We don’t have an official announced for Mad Max 2 (yet), but you can catch the original Mad Max available for Xbox One, PS4, macOS, and PC.
