If you haven’t encountered the Destiny 2 Gridskipper yet, it’s likely because you haven’t played Crucible. This Pulse Rifle is pretty much all the rage in Season of the Splicer, as its fast fire fate and fairly solid accuracy have made it a go-to weapon in PvP. All you had to do was take part in the first Iron Banner of the Season to know: this is Gridskipper’s world and we’re all just living in it.
Perhaps you haven’t been lucky enough to acquire one, though, and that has you feeling a little anxious. It’s understandable! No one wants to feel outgunned, and if it’s you versus someone with a Gridskipper now, you may feel just that. We’re here to fill you in on where you can get a Destiny 2 Gridskipper of your very own, so you can start winning more of those mid-range 1v1 battles.
Umbral Engrams are the key
It may be tempting to ignore all of those Umbral Engrams you keep getting, but trust us when we say they’re crucially important in Season of the Splicer. The Engrams make it a lot easier to farm specific weapons from the Season, and if you want yourself a good Gridskipper, farming is something you’ll have to do.
To start, there are three types of Umbral Engrams that can contain this weapon:
- Splicer Gear Engram
- Splicer Armor Engram
- Splicer Vandal’s Armory Engram
A Splicer Gear Engram is the more general of the bunch, as it includes all the gear from Season of the Splicer. Your odds of pulling a Gridskipper here are lower as a result.
A Splicer Armory Engram ensures you are getting a weapon from Season of the Splicer. This increases your chances of getting this wickedly good Pulse, but it’s still not the best option available.
A Splicer Vandal’s Armory Engram is the ticket. This Umbral Engram can drop you one of two things: a Farewell or a Gridskipper. That means you have a 50/50 chance of getting the Pulse.
You’ll also get one for completing your Week 3 Challenge
There is at least one guaranteed Gridskipper waiting for you in Season of the Splicer. It’ll come via a Week 3 Challenge, which will task you with Speaking to the Splicer Servitor, completing Path of the Splicer III, and defeating powerful Scorn anywhere in the system.
And there you have it. You now have the info you need to get your hands on a Destiny 2 Gridskipper. Go out, get your gun, and try not to hurt the people in Crucible too badly.
