Previous deep dives for Forspoken have given us a look at Frey and her abilities, but the most recent featurette for the game now delves into the fantastical world of Athia.

The world of Athia has been afflicted by a corrupting force known as the Break, and Frey’s ability to venture into these blighted areas unscathed proves to be invaluable to the surviving Athians living in Cipal. Frey has plenty of ways to keep her hands full while searching for a way home to New York, including some very intriguing points of interest to explore. Get a glimpse at some of the numerous endeavors Frey can take on while exploring Athia in Forspoken.
With the game giving a lot of emphasis on Frey’s ability to traverse the map, it would make sense that the devs would fill the world of Athia with things that implore players to explore every nook and cranny of it. With each monument and location, Frey is promised new quests and tasks—plus the excitement of battling a fantastical new monster.
I have to say, there are some Horizon Zero Dawn elements to the game, but I guess that’s not necessarily a bad thing. I’m sure everyone would love a new world to explore, and some great new abilities to learn, both for traversal, and some for combat. The world of Athia should keep players pretty busy for a good long while.
