Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order came out back in 2019, and it managed to become a huge success among Star Wars fans who loved its ‘diet Dark Souls’ formula. Now the game is set to return with SWJ: Survivor, and we have a new story trailer that features some familiar faces from the previous game.
Watch this:
We know that Cal and the Mantis will be appearing in the game, but the trailer hints that Cal would be the one piloting the ship, as Greez seems to have entered retirement. Cere, on the other hand, looks to be reembracing her Jedi roots, but she won’t be travelling alongside Cal this time.
On the other hand, we also have our first look at Nightsister Merrin, who ended up being a fan-favorite from the first game. While she was in her Nightsister garb for all of the first game, it looks like she’s acclimated into society, and she could be helping Cal along for some of his missions.
While Fallen Order had Cal on his own for a huge chunk of the game, Survivor looks to be giving Cal some companions in the form of Merrin and a new gunslinging character named Bode. While they’re described as AI companions, I’m hoping we can semi-control their moves, like with Atreus or Frey in God of War.
Here’s the official description of the game
The dark times are closing in as Cal Kestis seeks out a safe haven far from the reach of the Empire. Follow Cal and his crew’s increasingly desperate fight as the galaxy descends further into darkness.
Picking up five years after the events of STAR WARS Jedi: Fallen Order™, Jedi: Survivor is a third person, narrative-driven action-adventure game from Respawn Entertainment, developed in collaboration with Lucasfilm Games.
Star Wars Jedi: Survivor launches for PS5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC on April 28.
