General Thoughts
Note: Now available at 6 stars!
Cecil is a tanky character with healing and support capabilities. I think he is one of the best front line characters the game has to offer. High hp, high defense and decent atk and magic stats. Cecil can learn white and green magic. Most white, black and green magic characters have low health, so to have Cecil is a blessing!
His skills are mostly support and really lacks single and AoE damage. But fear not, there are plenty of attackers that fill that role. Cecil shines in the support department. With his guard ability, all other characters will take less damage over time due to the “Sentinel” skill. He also does more damage against Demon enemies.
At 5 stars, the dispel skill will really come in handy. His limit burst greatly increases your party’s defense and spirit. This might not look great, but it is vital against tough bosses. They hit hard, so reducing the damage dealt means your squishy mages will survive attacks.
At 6 stars, he gets Saintly Wall, which mitigates damage by 50% about 75% of the time. A great passive to have and it will reduce the damage your squishy units take in the long run. Alongside Focus, which gives 40% Mag/Spr bonus, your mages are also able to shine! Very useful!
Verdict: Max this guy and you won’t regret due to his tankiness!

Lore
A knight who appears in the tales of a blue planet watched over by two moons. He is a Dark Knight, an elite warrior within the great military forces of the kingdom of Baron, and serves as captain of the Red Wings, Baron’s airship fleet.
He is a serious man, and suffers from grave doubts about the cruel actions his king demands in pursuit of the Crystals, and his own choice to wield the power of darkness. When he reveals these doubts to the king, he is stripped of his duty as captain of the Red Wings.
Filled with despair, he sets out to Mist Valley to subjugate the Eidolons which live there – the last order he will ever take from his king.
