General Thoughts

Ah, Vanille the lolicon girl in FF 13 with them cheesy kawaii moves. In FFBE, she is a very good support despite being 5 stars. First of all, she provides revive at 30% health for 3 turns. She can also provide Cheer (40% to Atk/Def to all allies) for physical attackers, then Focus (40% Mag/Spr to all allies) for magical attackers. That means she is extremely versatile and can fit into physical or magical team compositions.

You can start mixing up your team with strong mages like ExDeath or physical fighters like Bartz. She can also learn useful spells like Esuna (cure status ailments) and also cure your team with cura or an ally with curaga.

She also comes with the Malboro Staff, which has the special Jinx ability (Disease lowers base stats by 10%. Stacks with Break abilities.). That makes her also an offensive debuffer for your team, making everyone else hit harder.

Her limit break is a unique skill in Death, which has a high chance of instantly KO groups of normal enemies. Her trust master reward is definitely worthy of getting though. A great offensive item for magical characters.

The only few drawbacks is her stats due to being a 5 star and barely any offensive spells. She also cannot learn black magic.

Verdict: Use her as your main healer/support if you can’t pull decent revivers/healers.

Lore

A young lady who appears in the tales of a world where the gods toy with humanity’s fate. Vanille was an innocent girl with little knowledge of everyday things, yet prodigious knowledge of the legendary “l’Cie” and the world of “Pulse” that lay below.

She eventually boarded a train full of unjustly exiled Cocoon citizens, and in the midst of the commotion that arose between the military and the people, ran into a young boy named Hope. Together they then headed toward the mysterious “Vestige,” though to what end, no one knew.
