Ms. Marvel won’t be getting her own video game anytime soon, but the closest thing will probably be the upcoming Forspoken from Square Enix. We know only so much about the game, but we have some new details that suggest that it could have one heck of a lengthy campaign.
Talking to Spanish publication 3djuegos (via GamingBolt), co-director Takeshi Tirada talked a bit about Forspoken and revealed that the ‘central story’ could take over 30–40 hours of gameplay. Take note, this is only the considered runtime for the main campaign, so we could expect a whole lot more hours when we take into consideration the side quests and other extra missions.
With a huge sprawling world to explore, I would imagine that Forspoken would have a lot of stories to offer, but with 30 hours to expect from the main campaign, I’m hoping that Tirada and his team at least manage to keep things interesting for the player. I mean, a good length of gameplay is great, but what about the quality of each mission? That’s something Assassin’s Creed fans have been asking ever since the games have become these sprawling RPGs.
Personally, I think Forspoken looks like a lot of fun, and the protagonist Frey is a fun subversion of protagonist of the Isekai story that Forspoken seems to be parodying.
Frey is pushed to her limit in the strange and cruel land of Athia. She must use her magic-enhanced combat and parkour abilities to survive against the fearsome, twisted creatures that lurk in the Break.
Forspoken is expected to launch for the PlayStation 5 and PC on Jan. 24, 2023.
