According to an X (Twitter) post from HYPEX, a reputable leaker, this update is a lead-up to the Fortnitemares event, which is also set to come to Fortnite this October with the v31.40 update. The tweet states that players can look forward to the full event update between October 11 and 15.
However, it’s probably safer to mark October 15 on your calendar for the Fortnitemares event since past events usually kick off around mid-month. This event may run until the end of the Absolute Doom season on November 2, following the usual two-week span we’ve seen in past events.
What to Expect With Fortnitemares 2024 Event
ShiinaBR, another reputable leaker, mentioned in a post on X that he found encrypted SAW files, among others, in the Fortnite v31.30 update. This suggests a possible collaboration with SAW, which could introduce items like the Billy skin and the Boom Billy Mythic during the event.
Additionally, a leaked image shared by the same leaker shows Leatherface from The Texas Chain Saw Massacre, complete with his iconic chainsaw, which may be a weapon in the game. The image also features Marshmello and Billy from the SAW series once again.
