In My Time at Portia, you can equip yourself with clothes that can raise some of your player attributes. Clothing items can be purchased in-game from Carol or bought with real money online. In addition, you can trade Flexible Fibers for a couple of tops and pants. Find out where and how to get Flexible Fibers in this guide!

How to Get Flexible Fiber in My Time at Portia

Flexible Fibers are considered a currency in the bustling town of Portia. A few stores accept and buy Flexible Fibers, but you would want to take them to Carol in exchange for fabulous outfits. Carol’s Clothing Store can be found in Central Plaza beside Mars’ Total Tools shop.

To get Flexible Fibers, you can loot them from Elite Monsters or complete dungeon runs in the Ingall Mines. Here is how you effectively farm bundles of Flexible Fibers in the game.

Elite Monsters

Elite Monsters are stronger versions of normal mobs you usually spot outside the town. They are known to be rare as they only spawn once a day. Most of the items they drop are crafting materials, but they are mainly hunted for Flexible Fibers. Detailed below are all the Elite Monsters you can find in various parts of Portia:

Cotton Llama

Llama Cotton

Cotton Llamas are passive monsters that come out after you kill a bunch of Colorful Llamas. Aside from being hunted for raw materials, they are also caught and used as a mount. You can find them outside the town and some near your workshop.

Despite being an Elite Monster, Cotton Llamas are relatively weak and easy to defeat. They are quick to lunge at a nearby threat, but you can finish them off with a few strikes with your weapon. You can loot three to five Flexible Fibers from a fallen Cotton Llama.

Mrs. Ladybug

FF MrsLadyBug

Mrs. Ladybugs appear after you kill some of their male counterparts, Mr. Ladybugs. You can hunt for these bug monsters in the Portia Grassland, just outside the town.

When provoked, Mrs. Ladybug will keep attacking you until you get far from its sight. It can also run away and restore some of its health, so strike it relentlessly until it falls. You can get three to five Flexible Fibers from a defeated Mrs. Ladybug.

Courteous Bunny

FF CorBunny

Courteous Bunnies can spawn in the grassy fields near the Tree Farm. They usually come to aid Illusion Bunnies when they sense they are being attacked. Another group of Illusion Bunnies can be seen hopping around Portia Harbor.

To defeat these Elite Monsters, you can shoot them down with a gun while avoiding their ranged attack. They throw hats at you when you provoke them at a distance. Keep in mind that if you decide to attack them at close range, they can damage you by hopping in place. After defeating a Courteous Bunny, you will obtain three to four Flexible Fibers.

Vampanda

FF Vampandas2 1

Vampanda is an aerial type of monster, and it is the only elite creature that does not spawn after defeating several of its weaker relatives, Panbats. Vampandas can be seen on rainy or cloudy days outside Portia’s Central Plaza gate. They are also found in the Collapsed Wasteland, the Bassiano Heights, and the Somber Marsh.

Vampandas can attack you with painful sonic rays. You can counter their attacks with ranged weapons like guns. Three to four Flexible Fibers drop from a fallen Vampanda.

Balloon Urchin

FF BalloonUrchin

Balloon Urchins are Elite Monsters that string along with a group of Sea Urchins. They are found near the Bassiano Falls fishing spot and on Amber Island. And they have powerful attacks and can take more damage than their less hostile versions.

Balloon Urchins can fire a spiky projectile and chase after you until they lose sight of you. It can be hard to tell Sea Urchins and Balloon Urchins apart, but you will know they are there when you notice your health is depleting fast. If you are a low-level player, equip a melee sword like a Bronze Sword or an Enhanced Bronze Sword to slay them. Defeating a Balloon Urchin can give you three to five Flexible Fibers.

Poppycock

FF Poppycock

Poppycocks are aggressive aerial monsters that spawn after you defeat a couple of Pinecocks. Like Pinecocks, they shoot a projectile at you, but Poppycocks fire bigger ammo than their weaker versions. They are seen flying around in the grassy parts of Collapsed Wasteland.

It can be pretty challenging to defeat Poppycocks. You have to equip a sturdy melee or ranged weapon to defeat them. Use the dodge button every time they shoot a fireball at you to avoid being hit. A low-level Poppycock drops three to five Flexible Fibers, while a higher-level one gives you four to six.

Flurpee

FF Flurpees

Flurpees are usually seen in the Collapsed Wasteland and the Somber Marsh with a crowd of Slurpees. Taking on Flurpees is recommended for advanced players, as they are resilient and can inflict lots of damage on beginners.

Flurpees’ attack style is to hit you repeatedly with their arms when you are in close range. You can avoid getting knocked out by a Flurpee by attacking it at a distance. Arm yourself with a long-ranged weapon such as the Triple Barrel Snakebite or the Red Hawk. You can acquire three to five Flexible Fibers from a fallen Flurpee.

Snake in a Box

Snake in a Box is a powerful fiend usually slithering in the Eufaula Desert with a group of Desert Hoppers. It wears a large cardboard box, perhaps as a means to sneak around before attacking unknowing prey. Defeat some Desert Hoppers to make a Snake in a Box spawn.

This vicious Elite Monster likes to hop at its victim, so dodging to avoid attacks and hitting it with a weapon is an effective method to kill it. Snake in a Box drops three to five Flexible Fibers upon defeat.

Ingall’s Mine

FF IngallsMine

Ingall’s mine is one of the Hazardous Ruins or abandoned areas infested with dangerous monsters and full of treasures. The mine is where you can head to get resources and crafting materials. It can be unlocked after you complete the mission, Rescue in Ingall’s Mine.

Similar to the Sewage Plant, the levels in Ingall’s Mine are randomly-generated. The abandoned mine is divided into four main levels. And each level has three to four floors you must pass through. The number of Flexible Fibers you can obtain increases as you descend further in the mine

FF IngallsMine2

Initially, most levels in Ingall’s Mine were inaccessible. Once you complete a level, you will only be allowed to progress to the next area. Note that there is a recommended player level for each tier, and you can see more info about the mine once you access the entrance.

Uses of Flexible Fiber

FF ClothingStore2

The outfits you can buy with Flexible Fiber can raise your stats to a great degree. But you’ll need to complete certain missions before unlocking these outfits in the Clothing Store. Below are all the special outfits you can purchase with Flexible Fibers:

Gala Suit: 10 Flexible Fibers

(Unlocked after finishing The Poisoned Water mission)

Gala Lower Garment: 10 Flexible Fibers

(Unlocked after finishing The Poisoned Water mission)

Sportswear: 30 Flexible Fibers
