We know that God of War Ragnarok has been scheduled for a November release, but seeing as delays happen all the time, fans were just waiting for any bad news to come out before November. Rest easy though, because Santa Monica Studios has just announced that the game has gone gold.
Here’s the official post:
While ‘Going Gold’ sounds like God of War Ragnarok has won some kind of award, it’s actually a term that means that development has been finished for the game, and now it’s ready to be pressed on discs and shipped off to retailers. Though it’s possible that the developers could still add some updates to the game, they will have to come in post-launch DLC or patches.
After the success of the last God of War game, there is a lot of pressure for Ragnarok to deliver. A lot of people were singing praises for director Cory Barlog when the game released back in 2018, but with Eric Williams now at the helm of Ragarok, fans are hoping that he’ll be able to deliver the same kind of experience (and more so) with God of War Ragnarok.
Set out on an epic and unflinching journey as Kratos and Atreus struggle with holding on and letting go.
Witness the changing dynamic of their relationship as they prepare for war; Atreus hungers for knowledge to help him grasp the prophecy of “Loki”, as Kratos struggles to free himself from the past and be the father his son needs. All the while, the eyes of Asgard watch their every move…
