This October will finally see the release of WB Montreal’s Gotham Knights, and the reveals have been steady over the weeks. Just in, we have a look at 16 minutes of gameplay, thanks to IGN.
Check this out:
Though Batgirl is the main focus of the gameplay, the video does say that you have the choice to pick whichever Knight to start the game with. The first mission is a tutorial familiarizing you with basic combat controls and traversal mechanics.
The main Arkham games may have ended with Arkham Knight, but Gotham Knights do seem like a good follow-up, just looking at the quality of the gameplay. I will admit that some of the character designs were iffy for the likes of Dick Grayson and Jason Todd, but I am sure some fans believe the game looks perfect.
Gotham Knights were initially teased to come out for previous-gen consoles, but they decided to remove the port last-minute. I guess the developers did not want another Cyberpunk 2077 situation. If anything, I think Gotham Knights will be a massive game, so it only takes a more advanced machine to play it, like the Series X|S or the PS5.
Batman is dead. A new expansive, criminal underworld has swept the streets of Gotham City. It is now up to the Batman Family – Batgirl, Nightwing, Red Hood, and Robin – to protect Gotham, bring hope to its citizens, discipline its cops, and fear its criminals.
From solving mysteries that connect the darkest chapters in the city’s history to defeating notorious villains in epic confrontations.
Gotham Knights is an open-world, action RPG set in the most dynamic and interactive Gotham City yet. Patrol Gotham’s five distinct boroughs in solo or co-op and drop in on criminal activity wherever you find it.
Your legacy begins now. Step into the Knight.
Gotham Knights launch on Xbox Series X|S, PS5, and PC this coming Oct. 25.
