With God of War Ragnarok taking the spotlight for now, some fans can forget that we have a AAA Potter game incoming with Hogwarts Legacy. The game is expected to release in February, and we just got an extensive gameplay showcase. How extensive? It’s almost a hours’ worth of content.

Join Game Director Alan Tew, Senior Environment Artist Boston Madsen, Community Manager Chandler Wood, and special guest Community Host James “XpectoGO” Whitehead in this all new look at #HogwartsLegacy.

In this gameplay showcase, our hosts will take you through a deep dive into the character creator, a small tour of Hogwarts Castle, and an introduction to combat.

While we’ve known that the game promises to have a fully explorable Hogwarts (and then some), we have a pretty extensive look at the combat for the game. As it turns out, there’s also a Hogwarts dueling club in this era, and that’s where you’ll be able to practice spells and combat on some dark wizard dummies.

What’s interesting is, the game is designed so that you can have access to over 16 different spells in an instant—all of which you can customize yourself. With the wands being as versatile as they are in the source material, it’s pretty neat that the developers could add a variety of ways to use them in-game.

Hogwarts Legacy is expected to launch for Xbox, PlayStation, and PC on Feb. 10, 2023. A Nintendo Switch version is also in the works, but is yet to receive a release date.
