In Destiny 2, Glacial Starwort is what’s known as a Planetary Material. It’s a resource that comes from the destination of Europa, and is sometimes required for things like Vendor purchases or item upgrades. If you want to know how to get Glacial Starwort in Destiny 2, you’ll be pleased to learn there are a few different paths available to you. One’s a piece of cake. And the others? Well… you might want to avoid relying on them if you can. You’ll understand in a moment.
First choice: Buy Glacial Starwort from Spider
You may not agree with Spider’s tactics, but it’s tough to argue with this Tangled Shore Vendor’s inventory. Spider has Bounties you can complete like most Vendors, sure. He also has a bunch of materials available for purchase, however, and if you visit on the right day, Glacial Starwort may be one of them.
Spider is a simple Fallen mob boss: he’ll either want Glimmer in exchange for the Starwort, or Legendary Shards. If you have plenty of those to trade with, you can buy as much Glacial Starwort as you need.
Second choice: Get those Destination Resource Bundles from the Season Pass
There are 100 tiers of rewards in the Destiny 2 Season Pass, and at a select few, the game will drop you something called a Destination Resource Bundle. This package gives you 50 of each Planetary Material, including that Glacial Starwort you’ve really been hankering for. The problem, of course, is that you may not be close to a tier that has the Destination Resource Bundle. So it’s tough to put all your hopes and dreams in getting one.
Last choice: Farming on Europa
Look, searching every corner of Nessus for Glacial Starwort is not what I’d call a good time. But if you’re out of options, this one does still exist. You’ll have to find a container like the one above to get your Starwort. Either that, or you’ll have to open chests on Europa. Those, too, contain Glacial Starwort in very small amounts.
This is obviously not the preferred method for getting any kind of Planetary Material. Farming, just like in real life, is manual labor. It takes time and energy to search something out. You should lean more heavily on the prior two options if you can. Just know that you can farm if you absolutely must.
And that’s how to get Glacial Starwort in Destiny 2
Now that you’ve been schooled in the ways of Glacial Starwort procurement, you can safely ship yourself out into space and get the materials using the methods you learned. Also: be very careful when checking your inventory not to get these mixed up with Helium Filaments. The two don’t look all that alike, but they’re also both things in tubes. Sometimes it happens.
