If there was ever a gun in Destiny 2 that screamed “TRY HARD” — if one ever existed that could strike fear into the hearts of anyone who encountered it — it was Not Forgotten. This Legendary Hand Cannon was once a sign that you absolutely wrecked in PvP. Seeing someone wielding it on the other team meant you could pretty much count on a quick and painful death. But times have changed. You’re probably here because you want to know how to get Not Forgotten in Destiny 2, and if that’s the case, you’ve likely heard the path is somewhat different.
Come now. Let us get you that gun.
Not Forgotten once required a vicious Crucible grind
Back in 2019, the competitive Crucible mode was not a place where fun things happened. Pushing up in rank was difficult. One loss could set you back significantly. It was in this environment that Bungie attached a ridiculously good weapon to the mode’s highest tier. Only Crucible lords could get it and actually use it. Everyone else just got slaughtered by it.
Eventually, weapon Sunsetting came into vogue (for a brief time, thankfully). Not Forgotten got lost in the shuffle. Because it could no longer be infused after the Sunsetting cap was introduced, it fell out of favor.
Fortunately, there are some modes you can still use it in viably — namely, those where Power Level does not matter at all. So if you still want to know how to get Not Forgotten in Destiny 2, it’s time to learn.
Not Forgotten can be purchased in the Tower
The Monument to Lost Lights is a place where guns like Not Forgotten go after their original Quests, Missions, Raids and so on are dropped from the game. This is where you will get the gun, but first, you’ll need to ensure you have some resources and currencies on your person. Here’s the list:
- 150,000 Glimmer
- 250 Legendary Shards
- Seven Enhancement Prisms
- Two Ascendant Shards
Once you have all of that prepared, open the Monument and breeze into the section labeled “Legacy Gear.” Then look under the “Crucible Weapons” header and you’ll find Not Forgotten sitting in the second spot from the left.
And that’s how to get Not Forgotten in Destiny 2
As stated earlier, Not Forgotten is still pretty sound in those Power-agnostic Crucible modes. Hand Cannon nerfs have taken it down a tad, but it is still a nice option — at least until you try to take it into Iron Banner and it drags your light down.
Pick it up, play with it, and see if you can find a use for it. Yes, it’s a “Bought Forgotten” as some might say. But if you’re a collector, at least you can still get it without paying for an account recovery.
