If you’ve played Crucible in Destiny 2 recently, you’ve likely noticed an oddball Fusion Rifle that shoots like an auto. You’ve almost certainly been killed by it, especially if you’ve played Trials of Osiris. You probably hate it, but you also probably want it. If you’ve grown tired of not beating them and you’d like to join them instead, you need to know how to get Vex Mythoclast in Destiny 2. Well, this guide will show you the way.

How to get Vex Mythoclast in Destiny 2

Vex Mythoclast first appeared in Destiny 1’s Vault of Glass

To know how to get Vex Mythoclast in Destiny 2, you first must appreciate its history! This weapon was originally a pined-for Exotic in the first Destiny, and that’s because it was very good back then. Many a friendship ended at one person getting Vex to drop while another didn’t. VoG saw a lot of action as people tried to get the gun — at least until Bungie nerfed it down into the ground.

A lot of people still feel that D1 nostalgia, though, and that’s why interest in Vex Mythoclast picked back up in the middle of 2021. When the gun became available once more, this time in Destiny 2, players were delighted to find that Bungie actually let it rip a little bit. It isn’t quite the god-tier Fusion it was back in 2014. But it still hits pretty hard and makes life difficult for opposing Guardians.

Once again, you can get the Mythoclast in Destiny 2’s Vault of Glass

In the middle of 2021, Destiny 2 brought back the Vault of Glass. It’s mostly the Raid you remember from the first Destiny, though there are now Champions and such to give it a bit of D2 flavor.

All of the weapons from the Raid have returned, and that includes Vex Mythoclast. So how do you get Vex Mythoclast in Destiny 2? You have to complete the Vault of Glass Raid, which means you have to defeat Atheon in the final encounter. Once you do that, Vex Mythoclast can be a random drop from that location only. It won’t show up anywhere else in the Raid.

And that’s how to get Vex Mythoclast in Destiny 2

As someone who enjoys a little Trials of Osiris now and again, I can tell you that Vex Mythoclast has been the cause of many sleepless nights. Being hit by it rocks your character with such force that aiming becomes extremely frustrating. Your only option is to run.

But as I said, getting a Vex for yourself means joining them when you can’t beat them. By wielding it in PvP, you level the playing field. Just play VoG, get as many clears in as you can and cross your fingers that you get the lucky drop. Some are still trying after dozens of runs, which is a testament to how good Vex Mythoclast truly is.
