Elden Ring came out of 2022 being one of the best-reviewed games of the year, even nabbing the title of Game of the Year at the Game Awards. Though titles like God of War Ragnarok were pretty confident they won’t be adding DLC anymore, it looks like From Software could be going a different direction.
As per a leaked Discord chat from insider Lance McDonald (via Reddit), a ‘huge DLC’ is said to be coming to Elden Ring. We don’t have any details about any new gameplay mechanics or anything, but all the source could say was that the expansion was ‘really big’.
So far, the closest thing that players have to an expansion is the Colosseum update that launched a few months ago which allows players to pit themselves against each other. If this expansion is going to be huge, I’m sure fans would want an entirely new location filled with all kinds of huge monsters for them to slay.
As of now, nothing official has been announced about a DLC, but hopefully we can get some kind of update at E3 2023, sometime around June.
Here’s the official description for Elden Ring:
The Golden Order has been broken.
Rise, Tarnished, and be guided by grace to brandish the power of the Elden Ring and become an Elden Lord in the Lands Between.
In the Lands Between ruled by Queen Marika the Eternal, the Elden Ring, the source of the Erdtree, has been shattered.
Marika’s offspring, demigods all, claimed the shards of the Elden Ring known as the Great Runes, and the mad taint of their newfound strength triggered a war: The Shattering. A war that meant abandonment by the Greater Will.
And now the guidance of grace will be brought to the Tarnished who were spurned by the grace of gold and exiled from the Lands Between. Ye dead who yet live, your grace long lost, follow the path to the Lands Between beyond the foggy sea to stand before the Elden Ring.
And become the Elden Lord.
Elden Ring is currently playable for Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, PlayStation 4|5, and PC.
