With Crash Bandicoot 4: It’s About Time putting a modern spin on the classic Crash games, Toys for Bob has decided to try a new take on the platformer with the upcoming Crash Team Rumble. The closed beta for the game just launched, and we have a trailer to entice players to pre-order the title.

Here’s the official description:

Be one of the first to try an All-New Spin on Crash! Team up in epic 4v4 competitions, where each team races to capture more Wumpa Fruit than the other. Pre-Order and get access to the Closed Beta, available from April 20 – April 24!

Players will get access to five different playable characters, including Crash, Coco, Tawna, Dr. Cortex, and Dingodile, all playable characters from Crash 4. The team’s main objective is to collect more wumpa fruit than the enemy team, and each map is laden with all kinds of power-ups and obstacles.

So far, early reviews for the game have been pretty good, and many critics have been praising the developers for trying something new with Crash. Though it’s not a new game, I think it’s worth experimenting with what they can do with this kooky cast of characters. Heck, when are we getting a Crash shooter?

The closed beta will be available from April 20–24. Crash Team Rumble launches for PlayStation 4|5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X|S on June 20.
