The Tekken franchise has always been filled with all kinds of colorful characters, and one mainstay has been the robot Jack. With each mainline entry, we see an upgrade with Jack, and now we have the gameplay reveal for Jack-8.
Check him out:
Artificial intelligence. True strength.
Jack-8 brings in the big guns in #TEKKEN8.
Checking out Jack’s unique physique, you can always expect him to have moves that make good use of his long arms. His robot status also allows for the game designers to give him a lot of loaded guns which he can use in a fight.
Previous iterations of Jack can also fly in the air and use his massive weight to deal damage to opponents, but we don’t see any of that in the gameplay here.
Probably the newest thing with Jack-8 is that he’s able to procure a massive gun in the fight and use it as a special move. We don’t know what the move is officially called in-game, but a lot of Marvel vs. Capcom fans will definitely think that it looks a lot like Iron Man’s Proton Cannon move.
We’ve been getting weekly character reveals for Tekken 8 as Bandai Namco is slowly filling out the roster. So far, we’re still getting more familiar and classic fighters that are returning for the game, but we should get into the newer fighters soon enough.
Here’s the official overview for Tekken 8:
Developed by Bandai Namco Studios, Tekken 8 pushes the envelope for fighting games and takes full advantage of the power of the latest generation of consoles by creating one of the most visually stunning and immersive titles in the genre yet. Tekken 8 picks up after the gruesome battle that ended in Heihachi Mishima’s defeat, focusing on a new rivalry pitting father against son as Jin Kazama stands in defiance against Kazuya Mishima’s quest for world dominance.
Tekken 8 is yet to receive a release date.
