2023 may see the return of Dead Space, but Striking Distance Studio is set to deliver some sci-fi horrors with their upcoming title The Callisto Protocol. The game stars Josh Duhamel as the main protagonist, and we have a new live-action teaser featuring him teasing what awaits on Black Iron Prison.
Watch this:
The game also features Karen Fukuhara (The Boys), so it would be great if she also got the live-action spotlight for the game. Then again, with the launch so close, I think the game will just have to settle with a promo starring Duhamel.
Like Dead Space before it, The Callisto Protocol also promises a dark science-fictions setting with players tasked to escape a secluded prison located on a moon of Jupiter. We don’t know what the enemies are exactly, but they’re still made of dead people, and players will have to cut them down piece by piece in order to take them out.
The game looks dark and fantastic, and I’m sure this should keep horror fans on the edge of their seat during the wait for DS. Who knows, if this game does well, maybe fans may not even care if the remake comes out or not.
Here’s the official story description:
Set on Jupiter’s dead moon Callisto in the year 2320, The Callisto Protocol casts players as Jacob Lee – an inmate in Black Iron Prison. When a mysterious outbreak throws the moon into chaos, Jacob must face his darkest fears to defeat the bloodthirsty creatures that stalk him as he unravels the dark mysteries at the heart of the powerful United Jupiter Company.
The Callisto Protocol launches for PC, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, and PlayStation 4|5 on Dec. 2.
