While we don’t have a look at any future BioShock game coming anytime soon, creative director Ken Levine and Ghost Story Games has something that could be very much in the same vein as the critically-acclaimed shooter.
Here’s the reveal trailer for Judas which doesn’t take place underwater or up in the sky—but in outer space. Watch this:
Here’s the official description:
Judas is a single player, narrative first person shooter developed by Ghost Story Games, a studio led by Ken Levine, Creative Director of System Shock 2, BioShock, and BioShock Infinite.
A disintegrating starship. A desperate escape plan. You are the mysterious and troubled Judas. Your only hope for survival is to make or break alliances with your worst enemies. Will you work together to fix what you broke – or will you leave it to burn?
On the surface, we can see a lot of things that feel familiar to BioShock, what with the first-person perspective and the promise to be able to control the elements with your one hand. There’s also the unique atmosphere that blurs the line between old-timey and futuristic.
I guess the bigger hook for Judas would be the story. You don’t mention a game like BioShock and expect something with a so-so narrative. If you ask me, we could be looking at another time loop game like Outer Wilds. Then again, that’s just my guess.
No release date has been revealed for Judas, but the game is now available to wishlist. The game is expected to launch for the PC, Xbox Series X|S, and PS5.
