The Nintendo Switch is the perfect console for walking simulator-type narrative games. For that reason, I was excited to learn today that Life is Strange Remastered Collection and Life is Strange: True Colors will both make their way to the system later this year.

Remastered Collection doesn’t have a solid release date, unfortunately: all Nintendo and Square Enix are saying at the moment is that the port of Remastered Collection will drop sometime in 2021.

Fortunately, the same isn’t true for True Colors. That game will launch on Nintendo Switch and all other platforms on the exact same day: Sept. 10, 2021.

I thought I knew where I was going to buy these games, but oh my — the reveal of Switch support is really throwing me for a loop now. As I mentioned earlier, the Switch is just a prime place to play these types of experiences. They’re typically episodic, which fits well with a portable you pick up and put down at a moment’s notice. And because they don’t require twitchy reactions or precise controls, you aren’t hamstrung by the Nintendo Switch Joy-Cons, which — let’s be honest — are bad.

The eShop store pages for both Life is Strange Remastered Collection and Life is Strange: True Colors are up now. Hopefully a more precise release date lands for Remastered Collection sometime soon.
