We’ve had several games about killing zombies, but what about a game where you can craft them. Just in, Marvelous Inc. has given a look at their post-apocalyptic zombie game, Deadcraft.

Literally Craft the Undead in Announce Trailer for Deadcraft

Watch this:

Here’s the official description:

Stare in wild wonder as the half-human, half-zombie protagonist Reid slices through foes on a quest for righteous vengeance! Wield his inhuman zombie powers to fend off enemies while searching the wasteland for answers to what happened to the only man he could trust. Build fantastical new armaments, conjure curious concoctions, or even grow and harvest zombie soldiers to stand by Reid’s side against whatever the apocalypse throws at him. It’s a dangerous world, and in order to stay alive Reid must take full advantage of the dead!

It feels like the game is trying to put the concept of Plants vs. Zombies over its own head by actually having the main character Reid craft traps and artillery out of the dead themselves. Despite the emphasis on crafting, Reid himself has his own set of powers ready to swipe at enemies, just in case he can’t craft his way out of a jam.

The game looks like a good load of silly fun. While zombies or wasteland-set games have a tendency to be dark and brooding, it looks like Deadcraft is approaching it in its own twisted, comedic way.

Deadcraft launches for PlayStation 4|5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, Nintendo Switch, and PC on May 19, 2022.
