Mafia: Definitive Edition is trying to be as period-correct as possible in its weapons and vehicles, but it doesn’t stop there. The full list of songs was released today, and it will pull you back into the era as well. Featuring songs from Duke Ellington, Harry James, Louis Armstrong, Cab Calloway, Django Reinhardt, and others, this is a good sampling of tunes for the backdrop to your criminal enterprise. This is in addition to the newly recorded orchestral soundtrack, and they will be playing on one of two radio stations in the city of Lost Heaven. I’ll put a list of the songs at the bottom.
The game is a remake of the original Mafia game with updated visuals, sound, and shooting mechanics. The story and some of the town’s layout may be some of the only things not to be dramatically updated.
Set in the 1930s, the story follows a taxi driver named Tommy Angelo, and a lifechanging meeting with the mob boss Don Salieri. Tommy starts working for the mafia, and Tommy will have to learn his new career quickly, before it kills him.
