The base game for Horizon Forbidden West may have been available for the PS4, but Guerrilla is ready to leave the old-gen behind with the upcoming DLC Burning Shores.
The expansion is set to launch for the PS5 on April 19, and we have a new trailer featuring new characters, a new location, and all kinds of biomecha for Aloy to shoot arrows at. Check this out:
The new character featured in the trailer is Seyka who is said to be a Quen marine who will become a companion to Aloy in the game. We don’t know what her complete skillset is yet, but it looks like she’ll be just as capable as Aloy on the field, and I’m wondering if her inclusion means we could have some kind of multiplayer option.
With Horizon already being as expansive as it is, it would be great if we could have some kind of option that would allow players to interact with one another in the game’s unique sandbox.
While Forbidden West does get its criticisms, a lot of people are hoping that this DLC will get more fans to check out the base game—kind of like how Cyberpunk: Edgerunners kind of gave Cyberpunk 2077 its second life when it released last year.
Coming to PlayStation®5 consoles on April 19, 2023. Horizon Forbidden West: Burning Shores sees Aloy pursue a sinister threat in the untamed wilds of Los Angeles, now a treacherous volcanic archipelago.
