The biggest baseball game has just been released on multiple platforms, and among many, the Xbox Series X and S, as well as Xbox One. MLB The Show 21 is the first title from the MLB series of games to enter the Xbox universe. While the game is also on the PS4 and PS5 as well, there is a huge spike of new players just because it is now compatible on more platforms.
With all of these new players pouring into online play, the game’s servers immediately crashed. A few dozens reports of server issues have been reported, and most players are getting a “Unhandled Server Exception” error.
Unhandled Server Exception Error – MLB The Show 21
The outrage was obvious, and most of the players that were affected were the Xbox players.
Still, there have been multiple reports of PlayStation players encountering the unhandled server exception error, among few other server-related issues.
As of this moment, there is no official information or a statement made by San Diego Studio, MLB’s The Show 21 developers. But the issues are pretty apparent, as quite a handful of players are looking for answers and solutions online.
At the time of writing, there are no official methods of fixing the issue, but it might be an underlying server issue, because of all of the new players that flooded the game.
However, it does seem like this error only lasts for a few seconds before the server pick up back again.
The common way people manage to “fix” the issue currently is to open and close the game and try again. The majority that have tried this method have fixed it with great success. But it is still unknown whether this manages to change something, or merely that there are frequent server outages that last for only a few minutes or seconds at a time.
For now, MLB lovers might have some issues here and there such as the unhandled server exception, but things aren’t as bad as they look.
Most players managed to enjoy the game briefly, but if you can’t get into the game, make sure to check whether the servers are up and running.
