Naughty Dog’s The Last of Us Part I just launched for PC, and though the game is widely regarded as a visual masterpiece, the PC port was apparently plagued with all kinds of bugs and messes.
The good news is, Naughty Dog has already released their first patch for the game. Here are the patch notes:
- Fixed several performance & hitch related issues impacting some users.
- Note: Additional improvements and investigations based on user feedback are underway.
- Added extra crash diagnostic information to assist in investigating shader building related crashes and other common reported stability issues.
This won’t be the last patch we should expect from the game, as Naughty Dog has confirmed that they still have their ear to the ground for any reports of crashes from gamers.
The fumbled PC launch for The Last of Us definitely comes with a huge chunk of irony for fans. Right after the HBO Max series had boosted interested in the IP and was a critically acclaimed series, you can expect that the PC port for the game would be at an all time high; it’s just too bad that Naughty Dog managed to fumble the ball at a time when The Last of Us has generated so much hype.
Either way, the game is still great, and we should expect ND to fix the problems soon. Hopefully these patches won’t take that much effort from the team; because, if rumors are to be believed, the studio is allegedly working on Part III of the game already.
The Last of Us Part I is currently available for PS5 and PC.
